CASE PATRIOT 4420 | ALLIANCE 550 650/65R38
Ag West Distribution in Moses Lake, Washington, came to their AXON dealer with a handful of problems. When one of their customers was using his Case Patriot 4420 sprayer, he noticed excessive soil compaction in his wheat and hay, which led to stunted crops and reduced yields. The customer also noticed that when the sprayer was on the road, the ride was rough, and the tires were wearing unevenly and excessively.
The last thing we want is for growers to experience losses because of the incorrect tires on their machines. Our job was to diagnose the issue and offer a solution that would correct both problems at once.
AXON upgraded this machine with a new tire and wheel package that would perform better and last longer. That meant replacing the existing 380/90R46 R-1w set with new 650/65R38 Alliance 550 multi-use tires. The immediate effect was increased flotation that reduced soil compaction and resulted in less damage to the delicate plant structure of the crops.
During a follow-up conversation with AXON, the dealer reported the tread pattern of the Alliance 550 added a smoother pavement ride, and the incorporated steel belts helped minimize flats and kept the tires rolling in great shape. This made the new tire and wheels setup well worth the investment, and as always, we were happy to help.
