How New Tires Can Extend Machine Life

Can new tires really extend a machine’s life? The short answer: yes. There are many ways to extend a machine's life or repurpose it just by making changes to the tires. Let’s dive in:

It is important to help your customer understand the benefit of having the correct tire and wheel set up on their machine. For example, if your customer is running an older machine that is not set up correctly, it can wear down the rubber on the tires faster. As a machine gets older, it will need more help from its tires. Old tires with less traction can cause the machine to work harder to do the same job.

Redefining the purpose of machines is also possible with custom tires and wheels. For example, if a tractor can’t pull planters anymore, it could be great for hauling grain carts if you change up the tire, wheel, and rim setup. New ag tires can give equipment more traction, provide less slippage, and allow horsepower to get to the ground. Upgrading tires is an overall improvement on the efficiency of their machine.

Next, let’s look at combines. If your customer needs their combine to carry a bigger head than in previous years, switching to larger tires will make their machine last longer. Larger tires with a higher weight carrying capacity could make the combine more effective with a new heavier head. A great option to achieve this is the Alliance 900/60R32’s, for singles as they have a higher load-carrying capacity. Also, the 650/85R38 dualed is a great option alternatively, also rear floats would be a great option if your customer is having trouble with a rear axle digging into the dirt or mud.

AXON Tire & Wheel is here to customize your setup for any application you may run, getting both you and your customer the most out of your investment.
